Heather started in rescue about 10 years ago with an all breed rescue group. By some twist of fate, her first foster dog was a Pit Bull , who remained with her until his passing a few years ago. After Heather’s experience with Chance, she was hooked on Pit Bulls. Heather continued to foster and serve on the board for the all breed rescue, but 80% of the animals that came through her home were always Pit Bulls. She finally decided, as there are several all breed rescue groups in the area, to work with an organization that was dedicated to this amazing breed. When not hanging with the dogs, Heather works as a Project Manager for the banking community. Her home is shared with a wonderful 6 yr old son Hayden, a patient husband, Ben, and dogs, Chewie, Tally, Bear and Fiji, along with two cats Ned and Alex.
Deyne has felt a natural penchant towards helping those in need, both human & animal, since her early childhood, a trait that has been evident throughout her lifetime. Deyne rescued her first Pit Bull, a female, from a fighting farm. She worked tirelessly to tame her and was rewarded for her efforts when KiKi yielded her a puppy, Miss Pearl. This puppy would go on to spend over 15 years by Deyne’s side. Miss Pearl’s valiant battle with two forms of cancer and subsequent limb amputation had a huge impact on Deyne and inspired her to seek out more opportunities for helping animals in need. Since Miss Pearl’s passing, Deyne has adopted two more Pit Bulls, Mr. Blue and Tabby Green and has enthusiastically pursued her goal to become an active player in the Pit Bull Rescue community.
In addition to their Pit Bulls, Deyne, Gilly, and their son Vir love spending time with their cats, horses, and countless tropical fish.
In 2009 that Tracy answered an article posted by Sara Enos in her Dog Examiner column. The article was in regards to a beautiful male pit bull who desperately needed a loving foster home so that his life would be spared from euthanasia. Tracy, who was not at all familiar with pit bulls but very familiar with their plight, responded to Sara. Tracy and Sara met and she has been fostering for APBF since that time. When the opportunity came for Tracy to volunteer as the Foster Family Coordinator, she enthusiastically jumped at it. Tracy lives in the University area with her husband, two children, two dogs and various foster dogs. She is a part time preschool teacher.

Sara is a long time Pit Bull enthusiast and responsible breed ownership advocate. She has an affinity for public education and thoroughly enjoys getting community youth members involved in hands-on projects.
Sara’s passion for Pit Bulls has blossomed from simply owning the breed, to bringing to fruition a foundation that not only emphasizes the importance of responsible breed ownership, yet implements specific methods to help owners and dogs in need.
Sara’s efforts are directed towards having a dramatic impact on the number of Pit Bull type dogs that are surrendered and ultimately euthanized. Her main focuses are changing the image of Pit Bull owners from criminal to responsible and bringing back the American Pit Bull Terrier as the all-American favorite family dog.
